Meet Your Texas Executive Director

Makenna Henning has been involved in the pageant industry for over 19 years. Makenna began competing in pageants at the age of 9 years old. From competing, to coaching, to working backstage, Makenna now has found a passion in being an executive director. Makenna is a nationally recognized hair and makeup artist. She began her business, MK Makeup Artistry, at just the age of 16 and from there it took off. Makenna travels all over the United States, and even other countries, working with pageant contestants, brides, and models doing hair and makeup. She has worked with Miss USA's, Miss America's, USA state title holders, and girls competing in pageants like IJM, NAM, RIM, and more. Makenna also attended the Culinary Institute of America and earned her degree in baking and pastry arts management. She went on to being an executive pastry chef and even winning a competition television show on food network. Makenna married her high school sweetheart in 2018 and now her and her husband Daniel have two kids.

 Hannah and Makenna met when they were titleholders as Miss and Teen Escondido 2012. They quickly became best friends. As title holders Makenna and Hannah did an average of 3 events per week and were very involved in their community. They have stayed friends, and have worked together for many years now.  Makenna and Hannah continue to work together at MK Makeup Artistry and producing the Miss Texas High School America Pageant. Makenna and Hannah share a passion for pageantry and want to make sure our contestants and titleholders make the most of their year and pageant experience.
